This web site is intended to show the history and development of PSV Badges from 1838 until their abolition in 1991.

It also includes Metropolitan Stage Carriage badges (Which were worn by Tram and Trolleybus crews) and Hackney Cab Driver badges and vehicle licence plates.

Whilst some facts about changes in style of badges are known, there are many gaps. I would be please to hear from anyone with information that can add to the subject.
